Ballroom Dancing
Strictly Come Dancing hits the ballroom floor once again for the class of 2024. You too could dance like the stars of the "Strictly Come Dancing" T.V. show. Learn from the Social Foxtrot to the elegant Waltz, smooth Slow Foxtrot, energetic Quickstep & staccato Tango. Ballroom dancing also includes the Latin American rhythms from the romantic Rumba, cheeky Cha Cha Cha, sizzling Samba, Jive, including Rock 'n' Roll & fun club dance Mambo/Salsa.
For Beginners / Improvers we strongly recommend that when you first commence, to try & commit to at least your first 16 weeks as continuity is important, & we need to introduce the different styles & rhythms over these weeks. In Level 1 all dances are instructed to a social level with some technique & styling. Having mastered just the basic social skills (& this will depend on the individual's attendance & ability) you will then progress to the Improver Level becoming more confident & learning new skills. In reality ballroom dancing needs to be considered as an on going hobby to continual learning with fun & enjoyment.
Please check for availability & also to make sure you are attending the right class for you personally with details of your experience.
Just a note: Don't worry if you do 'shift work' & not able to attend on a regular basis, which although ideal, you too can still have a social life by attending as often as your schedule will allow & integrating with an existing class. Just be patient with yourselves - you don't need to keep up with other members - go at your own pace.. enjoy & have fun, laugh at your mistakes!!..
